He is a strong believer that with the right mental attitude, consistent effort and guidance, we can all excel beyond our expectations. To keep up to date with industrial development while in academia, he maintained constant contact with industry through successful consulting assignments. After 12 years as a professor, Mohammed moved to a ministry of oil and gas in the Arabian Gulf, where he was entrusted with the leadership of several mega-projects. He was involved in setting up the companies to develop the projects, evaluate, select and negotiate the appropriate terms of the contracts for the required licensed technologies, front-end engineering design (FEED), and engineering, procurement and construction (EPC). He has negotiated feedstock supply contracts, product off-take contracts, utilities supply contracts, and several other agreements. He has worked with the majority of the international banks, regional banks and export credit agencies in the financing of the deals which total several billion US dollars. He was also involved in the recruitment of all senior staff for these companies. One of his major successes was the orchestration and closing of a US$1.6-billion project deal in less than 15 months once the sponsors gave the green light to proceed. He negotiated all the contracts, including the US$1.12 billion financing package. The process included the completion of the basic engineering design by a French technology provider, FEED by a UK-based contractor and the negotiation of the lump sum turn key EPC Contract with a Korean contractor. The financing was provided by a group of 14 international banks and the Import-Export Bank of Korea. At one point in his career, he was the CEO of three petrochemical companies at the same time for a period of over two years. He was entrusted with such a responsibility because of his commitment to results in a timely manner which challenges prevailing perceptions. Dr Mohammed has lived and worked on four continents and speaks three languages. He has worked or negotiated with organizations from various parts of the world and is well attuned with the subtleties of the various cultures. Dr Mohammed will understand your desire to achieve success and will work with you to develop the right strategy and approach to make your goals a reality.
